Bead Soup Blog Party Reveal! Woo Hoo!

Yay! It's time for the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party reveal!! I don't mind admitting I was some nervous.  As a reminder, here's what my partner sent me:
Remember this lovely, huge rose?
I was SO nervous about using this rose.  It was less the yellow (even tho' I don't use much yellow, normally) as much as how could I do this rose justice?

Summer Rose
I chose to add holes so I could dangle a gorgeous dragonfly a dear friend had given me below the rose.  It just seemed to be what was called for.  Then, I had these glass beads that look like millefiore beads and I felt they echoed the rose. Then I used the long blue beads to tie it all together with earth and sky since I felt the lovely magnet clasp echoed the stars at night.

One of my models to show it off

Summer Time Blues
Buttercup Drops

Double Flower

Summer Time Yellows

Summer Breeze
Yes, I went a little crazy making earrings but my partner sent me so many lovely beads I just went nuts on the earrings. (and Summer!)
Hide-A-Key Lanyard
as a necklace
As I said, there were so many beads from my partner I decided to use some in another challenge.  Using the cone above the dangle in a unique way. (read about it here)

Hide-A-Key Lanyard as a
name badge

Summer Fire Earrings
(used the little flower beads my
partner sent as accents)

Summer Rose earrings that go with
the Summer Rose necklace.

So! There's all the things I had fun making from my partner's lovely Soup Mix!  Please go have a peek at what others in this 3rd, and final, Reveal did with their mixes.

  2. Lots of great pieces and earrings. The way you used the cone is very unique and nice. The necklace turned out wonderful. I like the dragonfly hanging from the rose. And the millifiori beads just really draw everything together.

  8. So creative to drill the holes and hang the dragonfly from the rose - the necklace is beautiful. You did a great job pulling in some other colors to complement the rose. And I love the summertime blues earrings!

  16. I see a common theme in these comments, Pam. Yellow is one of those colours most of us fear a bit, perhaps worrying it will completely dominate any design. You have done a fabulous job of taming it! I am curious about the little square beads (best seen in the last picture). Are they acrylic? Resin? They look awesome and do wonders in "quieting" the brighter components, don't they?,
